I bought this player without checking whether it can play multicode DVD. That's pretty stupid on hindsight...but then it's 2009 afterall??? Why are manufacturer's NOT making multicode players the default???

Ended up like many here and tried both the 7 zeros method which didn't work. HOWEVER the "314159" method worked:
1. Turn on the player without any discs inside.
2. Press "pause" and then immediately key in "314159" on the remote. I actually tried a couple of times before it worked. If it doesn't work, try keying in the numbers immediately after the player is ON and then pressing "pause".
3. A small menu will pop up showing the Region Edit as well as the player's current Region Code. Just key in "0" for region free and then press "pause" again.
That's it now the player plays all my DVDs without any problem!

Hope this helps and thanks to all who shared the 314159 code with us.
