have owned sharp aquos,lc-264du} flat screen for nearly 2 years. suddenly the sound has completely quit. have done everything i can with the remote. any suggestions?

Stephen,
This is a common problem with the 26" sharp's. I think Discount-Merchant.com normally has the audio board in stock. Sometimes the main input board has the audio chip built in. You may want to look into this.
