The guy at the store says i can and the manual that came with the recorder says i can but i can't seem to get it to work because the source select gives me a blue screen. 1. sat box is connected to hdmi2 and dvd recorder is on hdmi1 on the tv. HDMI on DVD recorders is an output, not an input. There is no DVD recorder made that will record from HDMI. One of the main reasons for using HDMI on electronics is the copy protection which can't be defeated.
