This is without input signal but it should still produce the menu screen. I changed the lamp and balast board but the unit powers up but the lamp never turns on. I have bypassed the cover switch so I can observe any type of flicker or such but nothing. I can hear the normal power on clicking but nothing still. Curious if there is something else I can check, someone said something about a thermal fuse or??? This TV was free so I am just tinkering. Polo.

Ok I just found out what it was. Figured I would post it here just in case someone wants to try it. On the balast board you have the power supply plug in (blue/white wires) and a smaller plug with 5 wires (white/black). I powered up the set and gently tugged on the smaller lug and it came on. I guess with the new board the plug doesn't seat properly leaving it loose. I gently bent the pins a tad to add resistance when seating the plug, all is good. I am happier because it was a free set :-) Polo..
