Figured it out after some time, that using input 4 on an old Sony Triniton KV32XBR200 with Component Video; Y - Pb - Pr; fixed the problem completely. With three different DVD players, some DVDs would fade into a dark red for 20 seconds and then come back to normal color using Composite Video [RCA or BNC] (aka "yellow-plug" video)on any of the other inputs. Some DVDs ran fine. Satelitte dish and VHS work fine with Composite and S-Video connections. Don't know why, but thought I would share. If there is an explanation, I wouldn't mind hearing it.
