Thread: Two STB Setup, Help? |

I got a cw800 working 100%, i just got another cw800. all i did was run a new cable from the LNB second output to the new cw800 wich i believe is the right thing to do but dont work, i get this msg " short occurs in LNB" im thinking that one output of the LNB is not working but the other one is working fine, so how can i setup two stb with one output, do i need a switch, if i do what switch? |

i would get a dp34 switch for futher add on's later on down the road just get one then hook lbn wire to port 1 on the switch then in setup on both box's set the ports to port 1 and your all set |

Exchange 2 receivers and see if that work
Cable can be short
You made cable yourself or you buy it?
No need switch if you have only one LNB |

Ok, I got A DP-LNB twin with two output. one output is already on one reciever working 100%, i put a cable from the second output to the new reciever(reciever #2) but no signal at all, i try the cable from the second output to receiver #1 and the same, no signal at all, so seen that the second output of the LNB is not working, so can i still get two reciever to work with one output and how? |

About the cable, i have it for a long time, it was in storage. i got no idea what kind of cable it is but is a regular cable. |

No
If you have Ohmmeter test the unhook cable between center wire and nut you need to have over 500 000 Ohms
How many time you have this LNB and the output was covered for prevent moisture(with grease or plastic cap)
But the best test, try to connect the receiver which work on other output on LNB, if that not work the LNB is in trouble. |

Is there any possibility yor second receiver is still a virgin?
Here are few tips to consider:
- Make sure second receiver is flashed with latest bin
- Make sure second coax cable is working with good crimp connectors replace cable if necessary
- Make sure antenna setup on second receiver is setup correct
- Try second receiver in place of yor first setup
- If the problem is linked to LNB replacement of another LNB is simple
Twin LNB don't require a DISEqC-switch
If yo do split the signal yo have to share TP on two receivers
I don't think yor problem is LNB but can't rule out
I do think yo got a coax short
Another coax is only like $10 at K-Mart
Get another coax even if short
Try it out next to dish along with a small TV to eliminate cable as a possible problem |
