I replaced the color wheel about 2 months ago for the banshee problem. It was working fine until last week when purple bands started appearing in the top 3rd of the display. Since then it has deteriorated to a psychedelic mess that, after about 2 minutes, freezes the display with white and colored horizontal lines and the remote is no longer operational. I put in the old color wheel and the same problem. I also replaced the lamp. Anything to try before calling a service guy?

I can't help you but maybe you can help me. (see my post above yours). Anyway, what were the symptoms when you replaced the color wheel?

The picture was perfect but the color wheel was making grinding noises. Very common problem. People have referred to it as a screaming banshee. Pretty accurate.
