I am trying to repair a Samsung HLN467WX. My father-in-law had the TV before and it stopped working. First got a blue screen randomly -then he could not turn it off - and finally it would not turn on a all (like it wasn't plugged in). Service guy came out and said it would have to be shipped to Samsung, something replaced - basically just get a new TV. I am wondering if i can buy the part needed and repair myself. Worth a try? Here is what I can read on the repair estimate from the guy: "R+R comp - Temp Sensor and power board. Isolate to Light Engine Block." - Anyone have any ideas what it is that i need to replace from his notes or the symptoms above? If you have an idea, can you tell me where to buy it and if its worth a shot? Thank you! |

Jason, You will need to buy a new or used Light Engine block. I hear that there is a company selling them for $350 for refurbished Light Engines.. I'd give it a try. |
