Bought Philips DVP 3980 trying to connect to Mitsubishi CS35505. Follow wiring instuctions but unable to get picture or audio. Not sure what channel it needs to be on. HELP!

Do you still have the remote for the tv? Does it look like the one on the left? http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=CS35505&brand_pn=MITSUBISHI_C S35505&mode=large&v=1&uuid=A12107110896141

If so, after making sure your wires are connected correctly, start playing a dvd and then try to find the dvd player by pressing the "source" button in the lower far right corner, or press the "input" button towards the middle of the remote.
