I looked at some old post for this forum and I see I am not alone with this problem, of the player sipping and freezing up regardless of disk condition. I was wondering if this is truly a problem with the technology and should I waste my time on (a) lens cleaner or (b) new player, I would never pay to have a repair done, I have been burnt too many times on electronics repair. |

This can be a variety of problems, overheating from poor ventilation, dirty laser or spindle, or just a cheap player. |

No, in general when the technology is matched to quality parts, skipping and freezing are not common problems except perhaps, when the player has aged considerably. |

I got a Nextbase SDV185-S. And it had been working very well during bumpy ride in the past 3 years. How old is your player? It's so cheap to get a new one nowadays. It definitely doesn't worth getting it repaired. |
