First time round you have to go through the full ritual of setting up the receiver after loading the BIN and then scanning. Later on, much of the headache can be avoided, if you have channel master - a piece of software in your computer to save the channels and your full setup. So for subsequent BIN loads including changing from one BOOT to another, You save the setup using channel master, load the new BIN, and then install your save channel setup. Reading and understanding new software takes time, but it is worth it. The only thing that Channel Master does not tell you is that although you use the same cables for connecting, you have tell channel master that you have "Pansat 2700 or 3500" |

M. Shah: I saw an earlier post of yours where you said you could not find a file and loaded another. YOU CAN'T DO THAT except where permitted. The only thing permitted is 1. Selection of Background picture 2. selction of latest BIN WITHIN THE GROUP. This means that if you see b 7 5 scrolling you use a b75 BIN. If you see PUFF scrolling you use a PUFF BIN and if you see PUFF. twice and a stop, it menas it is a LZMA boot and you have to use LZMA BIN. To cross these boundries you have to use special tools and methodologies designed to change the bOOTs and BINs. The worst thing you can do is to say, "I could not find this file, so I used the other file" That is absolute NO- NO |

If there are no more bins coming for cs 4000, 5000 & 6000, then support is gone. Except I do not understand why no one else comes with a bin, other than the manufacturer of these units. |

My converted Fortec Lifetime Ultra (FLU) receiver has gone blank. No signs of life in the display. It occured after working for few minutes just after loading Bin 261 for b75. Is there a solution to my receiver or it has gone kaput. |

Hi Nalin... On my second receiver I only loaded b75 bin #261 and same thing happend with that receiver too. It worked for a few minutes like 20 minutes and then went blank with no lights on the receiver display. Do you think it is still a software problem or the receivers are gone for ever? Please suggest. Thank you. |

Dr. Dre, if it is the support group that can issue new bins, they would continue to issue it for the cs 4, 5, & 6000. But if the support group is paid by the manufacturer to force the purchase of newer models, then this will point the finger at the manufacturer. If you know what I mean. There are older units than the cs that are still getting their new bins. |

What is the real advantage of buying Nfusion NOVA over other receivers. I see in a comparison where the processor speed for NFusion is only 120MHz compared to Vewsat Ultra which is 200MHz and Conaxsat is 200MHz Captiveworks 800s is 160MHz. and so the memory for NFusion is only 16MB compared to others which is 32 or 64MB. Nfusion does not have Highspeed USB where as SonicView400, Conaxsat and Captiveworks 800s all have high speed USB. |

Usha: This is my first reply to you. There are some clever people who not only copy my name and attempt to give my name to their advice, but are clever at hiding it by then erasing the post so that only the current audience receives the post. You got one such post from some idiot. Normally, I would strongly suggest Sonicview 4000 at about $150. However there is one new problem in site, i.e. both Bell and Dish have started new encryption called Nagravision 3. this one has been around in Europe for over 4 moths now and has not been deciphered. Bell is already distributing new cards and Dish is still in the testing phase. This could mean a long blackout and your $150 investment could be sitting idle on top of your TV as a support for a flower vase. CaptivWorks has had very good support and the 600Premium is selling for about $50-65. It does not have a USB drive input. But it will get you by for the next 4 months and you will also be able to look at the HD receivers as the prices come down and the technology matures, so that 3-4 months down the road, you might invest in a HD receiver that will receive whatever you need to receive. You will definitely have a $100 saving and a better HD receiver in 3 - 4 months. For the very same reasons against investing a lot now , I am rejecting investment in Nfusion (about $250) as of now although that is otherwise a very wise move. |

Hi Nalin... I ended up buying NFusion. Do you think I will need any bin file to start with or it has a factory bin installed? Or please direct me to a site where I can get information on installing new NFusion receiver. I don't see any files listed for NFusion on diffrent sites which normally offer new files. I would really appreciate your help in this matter. God Bless You. |
