How you hook all your equipment up depends on what connections each has available.

Sorry it took me so long - became a first time Grandpa this week.
The components have the following connections available:
TV - coax, Red/White/Yellow
VCR - coax, Red/White/Yellow
DVD - coax, Red/White/Yellow
RF Modulator - coax, Red/White/Yellow

Is there any diagrams or something to help ?

Just to be clear - you have both satellite and antenna coming in?

And are both coax?

Yes. They go to a signal combiner.

Is this signal combiner something you purchased or given to you by your satelitte provider?

What does it look like exactly?

It`s just a small metal box that has no power supply. It`s about 6 in x 4 in and about 3/4 in thick. It has three coax hookups just like a splitter. Yes, it was installed by the satelitte installer

Usually a RF modulator is used to feed signal from a DVD player to a TV that has only RF input. So, I am not sure why you are using it since you say your TV has the red/white/yellow inputs.

Anyway, connect the RF signal from the combiner to each of the RF connectors on the TV, DVD, and VCR using coax cable. This will let you watch on the TV and let the VCR and DVD record.

Then buy a video switch

to let you choose between watching the VCR and DVD if you want. Connect this video switch unit using red/white/yellow cables to the TV.
