The assembly around the lamp cover has melted. The part has been discontinued. Sony is offering an exchange to a smaller (52") set at a discount but still considerable out of pocket expense to me.
Anyone else experience this problem? I tried to scan through the Sony Rear Projection Problem thread but it's way too long to read every post.
I'd like some more ammunition to use with their exchange department. It appears that many have had this problem. I just don't know how many have followed through with Sony.
