Hi, I just got a Toshiba flatscreen CRT with progressive inputs on the back. The manual says the tv only accepts 480i input through these. Does anyone know if I will get a picture if I connect my Wii to it with component cables but leave it on 480i output? (It seemed more appropriate and likely to get an answer on this forum than the Wii one) Thanks in advance for any help! Chuckles8732 |

Component inputs aren't necessarily progressive capable. Unless the TV is HD or ED, it's only 480i capable and you can't use 480p. Yes, you can use 480i output. |

Thanks. I think the TV is probably 480i only. It does have that "Colourstream" technology, but now I wonder: do you still get a better picture with component cables in 480i? |

Yes, component still should give the best picture quality. |
