I have an HD DVR in my living room that DTV set up for me, as well as a SD set in my basement. I recently bought a second HD DVR from Bestbuy to use in the basement. I split the two coax cables that are going to the living room with standard 2 GHz coax splitters. This did not work. Only some of the channels HD and standard worked in the living room and nothing worked in the basement. I know there is some way to do this I just don't know what kind of splitter I need or what other equipment is necessary. Thank you for any advice or suggestions.

Your signal probably isn't strong enough to drive two DVRs. You may need RF amplifiers.
