I do not have a Cable provider, just regular broadcast channels. My rabbit-ear antenna is connected to the TV and I have an RCA cable connecting the TV and my DVD/VCR combo.
My issue deals with recording. My DVD/VCR combo does not have a tuner so I must record only what I am currently watching (from Line 1). Recording has worked before with this combo and a former TV. However, nothing seems to be recording on my blank VHS tape with the Vizio TV.
I’ve triple and quadruple checked connections and I can’t seem to find any problems. I wondered if the fact that I must switch (using the “Source” button on my remote) from “Tuner” (which displays regular TV) to “Composite” (which displays the DVD/VCR blue screen) on the TV.
I’m all out of ideas as far as what might be the problem. I’ve tried both timer recording and regular (just pressing the record button) - I get nothing.
