I have a Sony 52xbr5 tv, Denon 4308amp, some good speakers. For FTA HD signal, what equipment should I purchase? I am bias towards Pans*t. Is there a better receiver I should get ? What would u suggest for HD reception? Thanks. |

your HDTV has all three built in tuners, NTSC for analog (goes away in 2009), ATSC for digital, and QAM for cable. So there are 3 ways you can get true HD digital TV. 1. Over-the-air (OTA) is free from local network TV broadcasters, if you live close enough to get the signal with a TV antenna 2. Local cable company provides digital HD service for a monthly fee 3. Dish or Direct satellite TV provides digital HD service for a monthly fee Put your full address in www.antennaweb.org and see what is available at your location. When the list of stations is displayed, click the "digital only" button at the top of the list to filter out the analog TV and list only the digital broadcasts that "can" carry HD programming, usually in the evening hours on the major networks. You can post your zip code here and we can make antenna suggestions based on the general info just the zip code will return. |
