I HAVE A SONY PFM-42V1 PLASMA TV AND JUST SWITCHED OVER TO COMCAST. THEY HOOKED UP A SCIENTIFIC ATLANTIC EXPLORER 8300 HDC BOX WITH HDMI OUTPUT. I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A CABLE (HDMI TO DVI)FOR THE CONNECTION. APPARENTLY MY TV CANNOT READ THE HDMI SIGNAL. I GET A BIG RED CIRCLE WITH A LINE ACROSS THE HDMI LETTERS. IS THERE SOME KIND OF CONVERTER BOX I NEED. IF SO WHERE CAN I GET ONE. THANKS FOR ANY HELP. PETE.

Comcast are very outdated with HD
This 8300 SA doesn't have HDMI
Use 5 RCA Component RCA cables (Red/Green/Blue) plus (Red/white Audio)

I returned my 8300 for 4250HD Scientific Atlanta
Works great with HDMI
