hello samsung suffers, this thread hopefully will serve to inform and build on previous references to the increasingly large number of left or right shadow vertical bands resulting from the defective light engines that project on the screens of sets like my hlr5668w dlp rptv. the customer service person will speak to you as if the problem is normal wear and tear but once you tell them the condition is epidemic and on many site forums, they refer you to exec customer service where you must hound and gripe to no end. this is a huge expense like GM automobile defects and these people could easily not give a rats behind, so give them all you've got or you'll pay them all you've got for the repair ($500 to $1100) good luck!
