I was wondering if anyone could please help me. This is not my first FTA unit, so I do not consider myself to be an idiot when it comes to programming and connecting. However I have had nothing but problems since I purchased this unit. I connect to the TV as I would any other receiver and I get nothing on the TV. Total blank screen. I cannot get to the menu or anything. Perhaps I am missing something with the hook up. Would anyone have a schematic to show me just in case I am being totally stupid and missing some obvious connection? I would appreciate it.

Thank you for the suggestion. I am presuming you mean to switch to video on my TV. I do not have it set up in that way. If I were to connect my Viewsat Plat. I would have no problem connecting. That is my problem; I get nothing with the 9000HD. I have never had this problem before and I have had several receivers. I even went as far to bringing it back to the place I bought it and they said they tested it and there was nothing wrong with it.. So I must be missing something. Basically I am attaching the Satellite cable, Regular cable and then out to TV. I do get regular cable through the receiver, but once I switch the Sat on, I have a completely blank screen.

Why would you hook an HD receiver up via coax to tv? You wont get HD. Use HDMI or Component out to TV.

You wont get HD using the Composite jacks.

Need to use HDMI or Ypbpr.

I am aware of the HD not working with the regular cable, I just ordered my new HD TV, and therefore this one is not so it does not matter at this point. I am just trying to get the box running. I would not think that could be the problem could it?? I am so appreciative of all of the help that is being offered. You have no idea how frustrated I have become.

Have your tried hooking it up via the composite jacks? From reading the specs, I dont think it outputs "Sat" on the coax line.
