I have a Sony WEGA KV-36hs420 tv and a Magnivox BZV420MW8 DVD/VHS Player/Recorder combo. After hooking the player up first with an S cable then with the component cord that came with the player I still cannot get the TV to recognize that the player is hooked up to it. Any suggestions out there?

Sony will display picture and sound ONLY IF:
1. Correct output from DVD/VHS (S or Componet) is connected to Input of TV (S or componet) (VIDEO 1 - IN is ok)
2. Then select "video 1" using the SONY remote.

NOTE: S or componet is PICTURE only....you must also hook up the AUDIO too....
