I just bought a Pioneer up-converting DVD player. For some reason I can't get it to upconvert to anything buy 480p. If I change the settings in the DVD menu to anything other than 480p, the screen flickers, then goes completely blank. I know my TV is capable of 1080i. Is there anything else I need to do? Could it be my HDMI cable?

OK, to answer my own question. It appears to be the player. Man, I'm having NO luck with finding a good DVD player LOL. I swapped out the the HDMI cable and was still having the same issue. So it looks like this one is going back too.
