REGION FREE METHODS FOR : Bush

 

MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
AV-11K
DVD-2037		 Multi-Region:
  1. Open the DVD tray and ensure in stop mode
  2. Now press Setup, Next, Prev, Next and Prev
  3. On screen you will see VERSION 2
  4. Select 255 for Region Free
  5. Press Setup key to save settings

If this doesn't work with your remote try using the DVD from panel keys

VCD Playback:

  1. Press Setup on the remote
  2. Now press Next, Prev, Next and Prev
  3. Ver should appear in the top right
  4. change 3001 to 3000
  5. change 5001 to 5000
  6. VCD and SVCD playback is now enabled

DVD-2523 Multi-Region:

1. Turn On the player and Eject the disc tray.
2. On the remote press 2, 8, 1, 2 followed by Enter.
3. This gets you to the engineers menu.
4. Press Down until you reach COUNTRY CODE and press Enter
5. The current region code will change to four dashes (----).
6. Input one number (0=Region Free, 1=USA 2=Europe, etc) and press Enter again.
7. The new region code will now be displayed. You can exit by just pressing the Eject button once more.

pdvd 2000 Load the disc you want to play into the machine.
on the remote press "shift" so it appears on screen.
Close the lid and while it is loading repeatedly press the 3 button on the remote (program).
This will bring up a programme setting. This will show TT and CH.
You can use your arrows to scroll along the numbers 01 to 20.
In column TT enter 01 and in CH enter 01. At the top of the screen you will see how many CH there are.
Unfortunately, you have to enter in each cell, 01 for instanceTT 01CH01 and then every cell onwards 02 - TT 01 CH 02,cell 03 - TT 01 CH 03 etc.etc. until you have all CH covered. then go to start on the menu,press enter and the disc will play with subtitles and wrong region as if you entered 11111 as a region 1 disc was loading.
This works for all disc regions.
However, some discs have over 20 CH and some discs will start with presssing 1 repeatedly whilst loading irrespective of the region.
It is worth noting that RCE discs will play on the machine.

DVD-2000		 1.  Certain discs from Fox, Disney, Universal and Paramount will not work using this method.
2.  Open the disc tray, place a region 1 disc in the try, but do not close it.
3.  Press 0, 1, 2, 3, PLAY on the remote control.
4.  To return to region 2, open tray, insert a region 2 disc, do not close the tray, press RETURN on the remote control then press PLAY.		 Yes for 1000

DVD-2002
DVD-2004A		 1.  Open player tray
2.  Press 7, 7, SELECT/ENTER on the remote control.
3.  You should be in the Engineers Menu.
4.  Look under COUNTRY CODE and change the value to whatever number region you want, or choose 13 for region-free.
5.  Press PLAY to exit the menu then close the player tray.
6.  Macrovision can also be disabled in this hidden menu on the second page to 2.

If this doesn't work, try the other methods detailed in the Ariston page for the DVD2000 model, or:

1. Open the player's tray.
2. Using the remote control, key in the following: 3, 3, 0, 8, 8, 0.
3. Close the tray.
4. Open the tray and put the region 1 disc in.
5. Close the tray - the film should start.
6. Substitute the last 0 in the hack for the region number of your choice if required, or an RCE disc halts the player.

2004 model (not 2004A) is region and macrovision free out of the box.

DVD-102		 1.  Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control to open the disc tray.
2.  Press 2, 0, 0, 1, ENTER on the remote control.
3.  You should now be in the hidden menu.  You can change the player's region to any number, or set it to 13 for region-free.
4.  Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on the remote control to close the drive tray.

1. Press the Open button on your remote control . 
2. Using your remote control, press the buttons 3, 3, 0, 8, 8 and the region number you require (eg 1 or 2), or use 0 for region free, in order, one at a time

1. Press the Open button on your remote control.
2. Using the remote control, key in the following: 2, 8, 1, 2.
3. Press the Close button on your remote control.

To playback VCD and SVCD discs on this player
1. Insert the VCD/SVCD disc into the drive tray and close it.
2. Using your remote control, press the Goto button repeatedly until the menu says VCD at the top of the screen.

Another method for VCD and SVCD playback:

1. Insert the VCD/SVCD disc into the drive tray and close it.
2. When the player's LED display flashes the word Load for the 7th time, press and hold the Goto button on your remote control.

2. Using the remote control, press the buttons 3, 3, 0, 8 and 8, in order, one at a time.

4. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control to close the disc tray.
5. The on-screen display will now indicate the currently selected region.

This method may not work on the 1005/A model.

FUSION007 "DVD Micro System"

 1. Open draw.
2. Press stop on your remote control.
3. Press the number 1,9,9,9 on your remote (one after the other). 4. A setup menu will appear on your screen.
5. Where it says regional code, change to all.
6. Close the draw. Now the player is multi regional.

If this doesn't work, try 1369 in step 3 instead of 1999.

Here are the methods again with a little more detail:

To convert this player to Multi-Region:

1. Press the DVD function on your TV set
2. Press the DVD Setup button on your remote control
3. Using your remote control, press the buttons 1, 3, 6 and 9, in order, one at a time
4. Immediately press the Left Arrow button on your remote control three times
5. Immediately press the Right Arrow button on your remote control once
6. The on-screen display should now show the word VERSION
7. Select this option and using your remote control, change it to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback
To convert this player to Multi-Region if the above does not work
1. Press the DVD function on your TV set
2. Press the Stop button on your TV set
3. Using your remote control, press the buttons 1, 9, 9 and 9 in order, one at a time
4. Press the Enter button on your remote control
5. You should now be in a secret area where you can change the region to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback.

A more detailed method for the Fusion player:

1. Press Setup key.
2. Press 1 3 6 9 in order, one at a time.
3. Press Left three times.
4. Press Right once.
5. An additional item titled "VERSION" will appear in the on-screen menu. Select this option, and change the REGION setting under it to 0 (for multi-region playback), or 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on.
6. The system remembers the setting after a power off / power on.

 Doesn't seem to work for the first method.

The 1369 hack works for the Fusion.

2035, 2035xi 1. Turn On the player.
2. Press Setup.
3. Enter 1, 3, 6, 9.
4. Press Left 3 times.
5. Press Right once.
6. A new entry appears in the setup menu, called "Version" there, you can change the region code with the Up and Down arrows.
7. Changing this value to "0" sets the player region free.

2024 This German site has a firmware update for the STi5508/5519-based DVD players, which include the Alba 114 and Bush 2024 models:

To flash the update, you need to download the ZIP file (vestel308b10_cf.exe), extract all of the files and folders from it, and burn them to CD-R. Put the CD-R into the player, and the update will load.

This firmware version has Macrovision disabled by default, as well as having some other interesting features (e.g. Component output). It's been tested on a 114 and it works perfectly apparently.

It will also feature on the next version of the CD - but you can obtain from me if you can't find it at the above site.
