REGION FREE METHODS FOR : Akai

 

MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
DVD200BL 1. Start with a DVD turned off (in the stand by mode) with no disc in the unit.
2. Press Open/Close button on the remote.
3. Press Setup on the remote.
4. Successively press 1-3-6-9 on the remote.
5. Press the blue Left button on the remote 3 times.
6. Press the blue Right button on the remote once.
7. A new item in the setup menu on the screen appears, which allows you to set the regional code (0 = region free).		   

 

MODEL(S) : METHOD : CONFIRMED?
DV-P1000 1. Turn the player off.
2. Press and hold EJECT and A-B on the player.
3. Turn the player on.
4. When A:00 D:12 appears, release the EJECT and A-B buttons.
5. Use PLAY for '+' and STOP for '-' to change the A value until it reads A:05.
6. Use SKIP FORWARD for '+' and SKIP BACKWORD for '-' to change the D value until it reads D:00.
7. Turn the player off.
8. Turn the player on.
9. The player is now region-free.  Change the D value to D:01 for region 1 or D:02 for region 2.

DV-P2000 1. Turn the player off.
2. Press and hold FAST FORWARD, STOP and the small black button on the underside of the player.
3. Turn the player on.
4. When the Akai logo appears, release the FAST FORWARD and STOP buttons.
5. When a list of numbers appears, press ENTER on the remote control to select the second column of numbers.
6. Use the right cursor to change this number to 00.
7. Press ENTER on the remote control.
8. Turn the player off.
9. Release the black button.
10. Turn the player on.
11. The player should now be region free.  Change the value to 01 in step 6 for region 1, or 02 for region 2.

DVD-2100, 2100SS 1. Press the Open button on your remote control to open the drive tray.
2. Press the buttons 3, 8, 3 and 8 on your remote control, in order, one at a time.
3. You will now be in a secret menu where you can change the region to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 9 for multi-region playback.
4. You may also be able to disable Macrovision from this menu.
5. Press the I button on your remote control to exit the menu.

Another method (similar) for the SS model:

1. Power on the player and open the tray.
2. Press 3,8,3 and 8 on the remote control.
3. A menu will then appear at the top of the screen.
4. Press Enter until 9 is displayed.
5. Press 1 to clear the menu and it is region free.

DV-P2500

Method 1:

1. Turn on the player, without a disc in the tray.
2. When the player displays the message, "NO DISC", key in the following on the remote control: Stop, 8, 3, 8, 2.
3. A "System Setup" page should appear.
4. Choose Region Code from the menu.
5. Using the remote control, press Select, Up/Down buttons to get to  change region to selected number.
6. Press Select button to confirm.
7. Press Return to go back to the front page.

Method 2:

1. Turn on the player.
2. Open the player's tray.
3. Using the remote control, key in the following: 8, 9, 2, 6, followed by the region number, or 0 for region free.

DV-P4000 1. Switch the power off, press the dimmer switch & the Back Skip buttons at the same time.
2. Still holding the keys down, power the machine on.
3. Four Lines appear on the front panel display.
4. Using the remote control, press 1,9, 9, 9.
5. The display will change to "A-0000 D-04" (Region 3 at this stage).
6. Set the region code by using the following:
7. Press 00 for region free (displays A-0000 D-00) , 01 for region 1 (displays A-0000 D-01), 02 for region 2 (displays A-0000 D-02), 04 for region 3 (displays A-0000 D-04), or 08 for region 4 (displays A-0000 D-08).
8. Push the Enter key on the remote control.
9. Turn off the unit using the on/off switch, not Standby.
10. Turn on the unit and the region should be set.

1. Turn the player on and ensure there is no disc in the tray.
2. Using the remote control, key in 8, 9, 2, 6 and the Region number, or 0 for region free.

1. Turn the player on.
2. When the Akai logo appears, use the remote control and press Open/Close.

4. The TV should display XXXX in the top left hand corner.
5. Type in the value of 00 for region free or 01 for region 1 etc.
6. Press Open/Close on the remote control.
7. Turn the player off and back on again.

 Yes for 2440, 2540, 1120.

1. Power on the player,
2. Press Open button to open the tray,
3. Press Setup button to enter the setup menu,
4. Press 49540 on remote control in turn, ( press the keys rapidly ). A new menu line occours
5. Select VERSION and then push PLAY
6. Select REGION CODE
7. Push > button and change the region code with up/down buttons. 0 is multi region.
8. Press SETUP button to confirm.
9. You can change the VCD setting from same menu

It seems that the DV-P3470 does not work
