CoolSatFV : You don't change provider ID. If you have C00LSAT 5000 OR 6000 load the latest BIN and comes with it.

neesha s: USB ports are notorious for giving problems when used as serial ports.
1. Use the drivers that came with the usb to serial adaptor.
2. there are only two types of serial cables - straight and null modem. Buy a M/F RS232 to Null modem adaptor and then with it in or out of the series you will get both types of cables. One of them should work.
3. Most uploaders use only Com1 or com2. Try and get that setting right. |

marawan : You will have to follow instructions PRECISELY and reinstall. There are no short cuts and no haste. Your receiver is NOT dead.
Look at conversion thread here and try and find out what you didn't do right. |

Jalar you should stick to either the vortex or the tivo files -whichever you have been using befre and use the apporpriate loader. |

Installing the jvvh_208_1.bin (448Kb) and any new serial load 2500to2700 conversion file:
Use a 2500 style loader, specify the model "Pansat 2700A" if necessary.
Download the modded and compressed jvvh_208_1.bin.
Starting download just as you start box and see the first "b" of the "b-75" on the LED display.
When completed let the box re-boot.
Then load the jvvh 211 first.
jvvh_211_pwTd.ZIP
Then load jvvh 217. Wait for jvvh218 and load it when it comes out. |

After convert fortec altra to Pansat 2700 Clone receiver im getting following problems..
1.Im not getting any picture just a massage SCRUMBLE BAD CHANNEL
2. I did BLIND SCAN,Enter latest Dish keys..
What should I do now please help.what about auto roll and provider keys im waiting for your reply.

I'm still having the same problems. The driver that came with the CD is installed. My computer recognizes the cable.
The issue is when I go to upload the bin file to the Loader it sends info to my reciever but there is no progress.
It does not upload constantly remaining @ zero % (progress) Please help!!!!  |

There was an ECM 2 days ago, and that's why all the converted FLUs are down. We're all waiting for JVVH to release bin 218 for the conveted FLUs and Pansat 2500 CLONES |

factory default- load factory bin- load new bin again.
see if it works after u put on factory bin. If it does, load new bin |

make sure u unzip (extract) the folder.
Did u put a factory bin on it?? |

i cant help on those, i think u need to convert to a 2700. MANY have asked how to do this lately. There are MANY posts that tell u how to do this. There is not a fix yet for the converted boxes, so, u may want to wait. but u can read up on how to do it in the mean time |

I think my Viewsat Xtreme is dead... Maybe one of the chip is burned... I even have try to use other box's power supply it still doesn't work.

u can try to connect to a working VS with a factory bin on it. connect with the null modem cable from one to the other.
turn on the on with the factory file- go to menu-reciever upgrade-main s/w- click ok
turn on other reciever from back.
worth a shot, see what happens.
u can send it to viewsat for repair. there is a good waranty on it if u have ur reciept |

How can I tell if my Xtreme is a clone or not...
on the outside it looks all the same...
some people r saying there is a clone kill in the new bin... I have bought it from a local dealer..
It will be hard for me to tell if it is a clone or not... So I guess everyone bought the Xtreme online won't have the problem? |

OK,Now Look at the register NO# on the box.Its on the lid,Open box cover and make sure NO# Match,With the same VS# inside on the mother board.
If a Clone,they will replace box and the NO# on the mother board will no longer match,also the price of the unit should have been around 170-180.00.
w/null cable and a VS41 or DiSEqC switch 4x1 inside.Thats another clue.
If you bought it on flea-bay,watch out.From a Viewsat dealer your OK, but there again check the ID no# inside the unit.Here is what it should look like.
Now one photo show's what everything is inside(NO jumpers).Real Viewsat,Clones have jumpers inside box.Second photo is for VS ID tag.Look at where it is inside your box,and if it has another sticker over top it,that means it would have been sub'd out from china,still no big deal.
Now your asking 100%,yes or no.Your the only person that can answer that question,you have all the information,Where you bought it,From Whom,how much you gave,ID no# match or not.
I wouldnt care much about the size of the box remember viewsat has alot of company's making them now.Clone's are easy to spot.If your not sure,send it back as long as you can get a refund.

I have a Quantum 4700 and I am only getting a variety of channels. I don't get any PPV, A&E,Disc, or TLC. Can anyone help fix this problem.PLZZZZZ} |

Why did you download that bin 218? There aren't any new bins for FLUs, which means you downloaded the wrong bin and KILLED your unit. If you're getting no power, etc, you have to JTAG. |

All receivers are sold with factory BINs. These usually will work with real Free to Air Channells.
The BINs and files discussed in many forums are files that make the receiver work better and correct any deffects in the software.
You see the software is right inside the box, and they cannot take out each box to update the receiver. So what you have to do is to add the latest software after you have got the box.
It's really quite simple. |
