I have had a Norcent PT4231 for several years now. A while back, the screen simply went blank. The sound is still there, just no picure.

I have gotten no support from the company and no service centers in my area will touch the unit because they consider it an "off brand".

Is there anything I can do to possibly troubleshoot and repair it myself or am I stuck?

Thanks in advance.

I do not recall if the Norcent brand is still being sold actually. A plasma is really three components put together; electronics, glass and power supply. You have an electronics problem. Since plasmas at 42 inches are now under 1 grand, you have to weigh how much expense you want to put into this. As far sa a DYI approach, you could open the back and look at the boards and try and observe for a fried capacitor or something obvious. If you find it, youd then have to get that board and replace.

This is a guess.

I'll look into it. Thanks. I will also post any findings of substance.
