Magnum not rolling DN. Should have bought a viewsat, support sucks with this company. Every other reciever out there, even Ariza, is working ok, but not Magnum. And I want my Direct tv you bunch of swindlers. It really shows when you lose your best coders I guess. |

I remember when everyone was endorsing the Magnum. I guess it is best to stick with more dependable brands like viewsat. |

I pissed off with the Maggie...I bought dear old dad one cause of all the hype I heard 6 months ago and he's complaining that it's not rolling(V154 bin). I feel guilty with my VS Ultra cause he keeps asking me if mine works. What bin are you guys using? And how long does it take to roll? |

From Dragonslayer: Try this: Load 154s Factory default; Set up birds; Scan one sat at a time; Go into additional options, turn autoroll = DEBUG Leave your magnum on chan.601 for (61.5) autorolls fine. Leave your magnum on chan.200 for (110 & 119) autorolls fine _________________ |

Thanks Zulu..will try it tomorrow when I go over to dad's house. If it doesn't work i'll probably have to swap my VS Ultra with his Maggie to avoid all the support calls I get :-) |

*** New Magnum V154-S (Supplementary)*** c&p -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was brought to my attention that several of the symbol rates have changed on DN transponders. Incorrect symbol rates will hinder channel scanning. This file contains updated TP info but is the same as 154 in all other aspects. Load it on top of V151, V153 or V154. Factory Default is required when loading on top of V152. Loading Procedure: - Do a Factory Default - Load new bin - Do a Factory Default - Setup Sats - Do a Regular Scan for DN Package and Nimiq 1 - Use Blind Scan for Nimiq 2 Reboot after initial keyroll. CAUTION: For best Channel Scanning results... Make note of your Satellite Settings, Load the new bin and do a Full Factory Default. Local Remapping: Have been seeing very few legitimate reports of Locals not working. If you are having difficulties, it could be caused by the following. - You are not in the footprint of the spot beam for the locals you are trying to receive. - When you selected your Locals, you did not the press the red (Pause) button on the remote to "Save and Exit". If you still cannot receive your locals, please report it and they will be added in a future release. zork!! It will work fine Get at www.dsscommunity*com, www.satjunkie*com or dsstester*com. |

Refer people to a magnum, expect lots of calls from them asking about why their reciever is not working. Refer people to one of the Big 3 (Viewsat-Sonicview, Cool sat or Pansat)and you will hardly hear a peep from anyone. The new companies start up, push it with salesmen and good support on the forums, make the money, then go on to the next scam. |

No Zulu, you don't know what you are talking about obviously. This machine is a trouble ridden piece of crap. It is not stable at all and never will be. How long before Magnum leaves town? Not long I bet, don't see no new recievers coming out, and support is fading. |

Well I almost bought one,but experience prevailed and I got the ultra, just because they had a proven track record and thus deserved the sale. |

The Maggie is a great machine .....simple to use ....great software support....102/103 card ready....rolls just fine... I've been endorsing the Sonicview 4000 and VS Ultra because of its USB strick capabilities, and most newbies have ONLY USB computers and can't find a working adapter , and therefor cannot even "communicate" to their receivers, that require a cable and are not "USB" ready...and I haven't recommended a Pancrap in years.... A maggie is a VERY good machine with CARD capablities...people having problems with it, just don't read or follow the simple instructions with the files.. |
