I plan to buy LG RC299 Combo. Can somebody help me to find the following information.

1. Can this COMBO play VHS tapes recorded in NTSC format?
2. Can it record such NTSC VHS tapes to DVD in any format?

I tried to contact support services but got controvercial information.It looks that I just need to try it practically but unfortunately I do not have such opportunity.
