Hey all, new poster to this forum but have enjoyed reading all these threads. My question is --if I have a DVD player that can connect to my hdtv with an HDMI connection, but do not have an HDMI connection on my receiver, would it be possible to use the HDMI cable for the video signal from DVD to HDTV but use a digital coax for the audio through the receiver? Tried a search before posting and didn't find much, so maybe you guys can help. Thanks a ton! |

Happy viewing and listening. Make certain you set your DVD to output through the coax. |

There is at least 1 Philips player that won't output through the digital out when using HDMI, there may be others too. Most should though. |
