i was told the co*lsat has a great hd receiver and costs around $500. you can get bev in hd. the viewsat has an hd receiver but i was told with all the add on's you need to make it work, it will cost around $1000. not sure what channels that gets in hd. |

DN keys have not changed since 11th April.
1. Turn off receiver at back and turn on after 30 seconds.
2. If no tv, do autoroll off, set default kesy and enter both Key 00 and key 01 manually. Then do no 1 above. |

Please someone help ..119 sat..is gone..nothing..tried scan and still nothing..110 still working..can someone please help?? what's the fix?? is there one?? 119 working until noon pacific time..now only 110 ...thank u checked dish setting and very low..so changed the committed # from 3 to 2 and good but the 110 is also on the # 2?? confused..help thanks |

Key problems.
DN keys have not changed. Presuming you have a valid BIN, if you are having problems, do the following:
1. Turn autoroll off.
2. Switch off at back and on again after 30 seconds.
If no TV,
1. Keep autoroll off, do set default keys.
2. Manually install both key 00 and key 01
3. Switch off at back and on again after 30 seconds.
If still no TV,
1. do factory reset.
2. Reinstall BIN
3. Restore User settings, time, date, time zone.
4. Reinstall keys.
5. Do an appropriate rescan. |

I bought a new Viewsat Ultra, but I don't know how to use it. What loader do I have to use? And if you have it can you e-mail to me at: imran11222@hotmail.com? Viewsat Ultra has a USB drive slot. So buy a USB drive for $10-30, and use that only. Preload it via Internet with all the files, channels lists, etc in a methodical manner, then take the USB drive to the Viewsat ultra nd using the remote install whatever you need to install.
ALL instructions and informtation and files are available at several sites. You will need to spend time - about 3 hours - reading there and also reading your manual. Most sites have separate sections for Viewsat receiver, and forum for discussion on viewsat.

I have a Data Cable, would that work? Where and how do I go about downloading files, and channels into the reciever? The sites that you sent me, i have no clue what or how to do anything. I tried downloading with the data cable, but I don't know how to. Can you tell me if I save the file first or run it, and where will it I find all these files? Can you please provide me with more information, because I wasted about 4 hours and still got nothing done. I'm blank with this reciver information. Thank you for your help, but can you explain me everything more clearly?

I have Dish Network 500 with 2 LNB, but my Viewsat Ultra only have one place to plug the wire. Where do I plug the other wire, since there are two because its a 2 LND Dish?

Get a computer literate person to help you get the files and the info, and upload it your receiver. My instructions are detailed enough for anybody with reasonable computer knowledge to help you further. |

Nalin Nyda: Don't get upset with me! I don't have any clue about this reciever. I did what you told me, and downloaded the channel list. I also bought the UBS drive. After loading the channels, what eles do I have to load? The loading of the channels didn't make any difference, the reciever is just blank. The site that you gave me: http://www.dssrookie.com, I even bought the membership from the site, and e- mailed them, but they didn't reply to me at all, and its been three days. You recommended this site to me, but no one even answers there. I would advice you not to recommended this site to anyone, it's a waste of money. You guys are better than them, at least you respond. So please tell me what I do after the downloading of channels and please take it step by step because I don't know anything about this subject at all. I'm basically stuck at this point. I'm sure you get frustrated when I ask things more than once, please get me through this step by step, as though you're teaching a child. Thank you so much.

Imran: You should read the "sticky" postings at some of the sites and there are clear cut instructions at the sites on how to load a BIN.
You should never have to pay for memebership anywhere. Here are a FEW examples of what is avaialble, but there is much more at ALL the sites.

I finally got my viewsat ultra working, but I am missing channels and when I go to some channels the bottom guide thing flickers and theres no picture. I have echostar 7, 8.10, and nimiq 1.3 And if it helps two of the missing channels that I've discovered so far are mtv and cartoon network.
And as far as the settings are concerned - it used to work fine. Is there a reason that the settings would all of a sudden need to be changed?
P.S. The problem was the diseqc switch. And my current settings are:
Echostar 8.10:
LNB Power: On
Type: OCS-DP
Freq: 11250
22khz: off
TO Freq: 11239 (i think? its automatic you cant change it)
Search: All
Diseqc: Port 1
Motor: Off
Legacy SW: None
Echostar 7: same, but port 2
Nimiq 1.3: same, but standard and port 3
I know LK suggested switching ports once when I couldn't get it to work, could that be the issue still? Or that has nothing to do with the channels missing?

Nalin: Thank You for all the information. I had tried downloading files before your message and it always said "failed". Before downloading your files into the reciever, I factory default it so it would deleate any wronge infomation that had turned out as fail. When I tried to download the new files, the reciever would'nt turn on. The reciever just says 00.00 and there is no screen menu showing on the T.V. What's wrong? |

You download files from the remote sites using your computer, internet connection and USB drive.
Then you unzip the files.
Then you read the instructions given in the how to file.
Then you try to upload to your Ultra taking the USB drive to the receiver, plugging it into it and using the remote. You follow the instructions.
Again, all these are very elementary questions, so you should have somebody more knowledgable than you with you.
Usual cause of failure is not unzipping the file and wrong cable. You are not using a cable now so the only snag is unzipping the files, and following the instructions properly. |

Menu/Installation shouldgive you option of Blind scan and TP scan. Also, you should turn autoTP on and channels that have moved will come in. |

Thanks for the help. you mentioned that set and all those missing channels are on TP 12470H i have added this Tp but i am not sure about S/R number which is either 20000 or 21500 with other channels and it also ask for some number that appears in fraction as 1/2 3/4. can you tell me what they are . i did channel scan and this TP has Q 0% while the S was 76%.

Hi NALIN, I need ur help please. my dish stopped working last saturday. Yesterday i read all ur recommendations about DN TROUBLESHOOTING, like switching the receiver off and on, turn the auto-roll off, entering the keys manually... I did all that and it worked for an hour but with a scrambled picture, but then it went down again. I tried the same process again, and it's not working. any suggestions? thanks in advance |

nope, need the remote...hopefully it has a WORKING autoroll bin loaded that will change the keys, if keys were to change until U get the remote..and that receiver usually has only 1 current working bin, which is not very popular or quickly available.. |

Lili boudiwan : For most receivers, the BIN has not changed in the last week and the DN keys are the same for the past 8 weeks or so.
If you have tried "Autoroll off","Set Default Keys" followed by manuall entry of BOTH key 00 and key 01, then your only option left is to reload the BIN.
If you post your receiver model, and more information about your setup, somebody here might be able to take a fresh look at it. |

is there new Dish Network keys??
Yesterday i put the ones from may 13th.. i had program for like 5 minutes.. and then it stoped again..
Can anybody explain what is a difference between Dish and Bev keys[channels]//
If my dish ones dosent work, how can I switch to Bev ones??/
Please help. |

Well i do.. i have this cloned lifetime ultra crap.. and i watched free channels for like 2 years now.. and it suddenly stoped..
I used to take keys from "maestra" site.. but now its closed.. i just need new keys, thats all.. and i am just asking ab Bev .. bc I c ppl use that,too. |

Jake: You have a Fortec Liftime Ultra with an older BIN - probably a 290T. You should look at the BIN (Menu/System Info) and change to 293T BIN. Sometimes, if you have the 290T BIN, you have to first install an older BIN such as 280T and then override it with 293T. Also make sure you have the correct date, time, time zone. |

1 way to find out...go to a Dishnet channel like 300 and turn ON your autoroll and see if the new keys roll into place....be patient too...U must try things yourself...every bin and key change may bring different results..don't worry about the TP for now...or try that too AFTER this.. |

With Viewsat Extreme and the BIN dated 23th May, you do not need to turn autoroll off. You can and should select the TP of the EPG |
