Next year the U.S. will go completely digital. No more analog devices with be imported, sold or manufactured. Because of this huge leap into the future by America, it does not pay anyone to buy backwards when buying home theater, etc. If you do not know about HDMI connectivity, learn before you buy. "High Definition Media Interface" cables are used to connect all components to an HDMI home theater receiver, which then "upconverts" to the flat panel monitor. In other words, your DVD player must have an HDMI output to connect to the receiver, your cable box must have an HDMI output to connect to the receiver, and you will enjoy an amazing picture. HDMI cable should be bought online for cheap cost, not at a place who wants you to buy such a cable for $29.95. There are several flat panel tvs which have "DVI' digital video input sockets. This is backwards compatible with HDMI. Plasma with 1080P smokes lcd. P.
