Current plasma displays do not suffere from burn in like five years ago. People buy plasma because it has a verey wide angle of view, because it produces black, red, and white accurately, and because the Asians are cranking them out in 42" size so the price has dropped hugely. The otheer day I was in my favorite wholesale club in the tv aisle and noticed that they had placed a 1080P tv between two 720p sets. The huge difference was noticed by everybody and these were Sony lcd sets. Sony does not sell 42" plasma in the consumer market, but in their Pro market they sell the Sony 42Px2 plasma 1080P display (for use with home theater receiver< cable box, hdmi, etc)which can be found with Google at many locations online who dicount it to $1600! It smokes lcd! P.
