Hello, I use my JVC Model #A55U VCR to change channels on my TV, as I lost my TV remote and the Universal one doesn't work, so if I cannot fix the VCR, I'm losing both the VCR and the TV... ).

When I inserted a casette to view it s usual... suddenly that little door didn't close and the casette got stuck inside with the door open! I managed to pull out the casette with a clothes hanger LOL! (tried it on a neighbor's VCR and it was ok).

However, that little VCR door never closed so again, I used the good old hanger to pry it open, but it bounces right back to the roof of the VCR where it stays put. I hope I explained it clearly enough. [b}My question:[\b]

Is there a way I could pry open that little door without it bouncing back on me so I can continue to use the VCR so I can also continue to use my }TV???

Thanks so very much for any suggestions! Adela

Trash the thing. VCRs are a dime a dozen. Why risk a valued video on a clothes hanger?
