The green gun or driver circuit is dead. You're probably looking at an expensive fix.

Try Sony website or yellow pages for possible repair sites. Sad to learn you could not figure this out for yourself.

King Tapeman is obviously an idiot. Interesting that many if not most broadcast production facilities with unlimited budgets choose Sony "junk". And don't give me that Sony greases the wheels bull. Interesting that year after year, various critics consitently name at least one Sony tv as best in its class. What does the King know that the experts don't? Zilch. Just his biases speaking.

Sony TVs at the consumer level are very problem prone, especially for the price. Critics rate performance only, and they're not always very good at that, not reliability. Consumer equipment and professional equipment are 2 completely different things. King is right.

Well thank you David

I guess I'll leave Jim to learn what I learned the hard way
I do work at Pro Audio/Video dozens of my customers are whole sale dealrs I do know what I'm talking about.
I wrote hundreds of posts praising how advanced Sony in Pro Electronics. When it gets to consumer elect. their parts break more often. That is why I say they are junk.

Consumers are smart perhaps reason for why Sharp and Panasonic sell more HD TVs than Sony.

I'm never biases
I always state my opinions
I do know one thing right now that you know nothing about electronics.

Oh, and performance doesn't count, I guess. You're both nuts. King, your opinions contain nothing but bias.

I know plenty of people with experience. Unfortunately, much of it was bad and therefore, any advice they might give would be highly suspect. And like my man Forrest Gump, that's all I got to say about that.

Performance doesn't count for much when the product breaks down. Samtrash can make TVs that perform well when new, but their breakdowns are ridiculously high. So do you recommend something like Samsung on perfrmance only? Definitely not. I have been repairing electronics for about 20 years. I've heard almost as many compliants about Sony TVs as RCAs, which cost a fraction as much as Sony, so high breakdowns can be expected.

"If you stick around you'll learn from me"
Now that's an offer that is easy to refuse.

"I've heard almost as many compliants about Sony TVs as RCAs, which cost a fraction as much as Sony, so high breakdowns can be expected."
Now that's what I call real objective and persuasive evidence.
I heard the world was coming to an end 20 years ago. Glad I didn't take that bet. As I previously stated, you guys are nuts.

Jim
You seem to be a smart alex.
Sony build advanced electronic devices there is no doubt about that. But fact they break more often than other reputable brands. To you performance doesn't count but majority of consumers don't want that to happen to them.
Yes Sony is the best TV design on earth as long as they don't break.
On the other hand Panasonic and Sharp sell more flat TV screens for the very same reason.

At this forum everyone entitled to their opinion.
You gave yours and I did provide mine.
Come on get over it.

King, I beg your pardon, but I believe the correct phrase is smart aleck or smart alec. And no, I do not claim to be one. Now on to more important considerations:

"Sony build advanced electronic devices there is no doubt about that."
"Yes Sony is the best TV design on earth as long as they don't break."

I'll accept those intelligent observations.

Ya
But they break more often is what consumer won't accept.
That is even more logical

Jim, obviously you have no experience in the electronics field and are just babbling. Nice analogy on the end of the world. When you work on electronics and people tell you all the problems they've had or are having with their Sony TVs, it's past or present tense, in other words it's real, not someone predicting the end of the world in 20 years.

David, shame on you. Is that the best you can do? Better stop while you still have some credibility left. I respect most of your contributions to this forum, although your analysis sometimes lacks cohesion. This is one of those times.

"But they break more often is what consumer won't accept."
Obviously, you are not referring to the American consumer. The popularity of Samsung does little to support your claim. Like I told Massey, better quit while you are even.

We were talking about North Korea and Cuba's consumers
Chill Chill
Have a drink I think you can use one:
Upload

Bullshot

11/4-2 ounces vodka or gin
3-4 ounces chilled beef bouillon
1 tsp. lemon juice
Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and black pepper to taste.
Place ice cubes in glass, add ingredients and stir gently. Serves 1

Prairie Oyster

1¼ -2 ounces vodka (optional)
1 whole egg
3 ounces tomato juice (or V-8)
Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, salt and black pepper to taste.
The egg should be swallowed whole. If made without alcohol, place ingredients in a shot glass and swallow all at once. (Note: raw eggs may contain salmonella bacteria). Serves 1

Bl00dy Mary

1½ -2 ounces vodka
4 ounces tomato juice
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco and black pepper to taste
Pour over ice cubes and stir well. Garnish with a celery stalk. Serves 1

Enjoy
