I was given a Motorola DCT6412-III from my brother's estate when he passed away in 2006. I've had it in my garage for several months and wanted to hook it up. He lived in Arkansas, I live in Tennesee and use Comcast as my cable provider, with no cable box (just get basic channels). Is this thing useless to me? I'd love to hook it up and use the DVR features for recording shows. |

It is not useless, use it to remember your brother. As far as using it to receive digital cahnnels it is useless. xvxvxvx |

I have a the same receiver and have Comcast as a provider (unfortunately). I imagine it would only be a slight upgrade to switch to digital programming. The upside, you probably wouldn't get popped with the monthly rental fee for the unit. Give them a call. It can't hurt. |

No upside, your cable company WILL NOT enable the device. xvxvxvx |
