I ordered a full HD plasma TV. I have DirecTV (no HD receiver). My question is, since I have the HD decoder in my TV, will I be able to receive HD broadcasts through my non-HD DirectTV receiver? I would think that it would since the TV has the decoder but I wanted to double-check.

Thanks!

no you will not receive hd broadcast through your non hd directtv receiver....you have to get a directtv hd receiver and sign up with directtv hd package. your non hd direct signal are beaming from satellite 101, and I do believe direct tv hd channel are beaming from satellite 110....if your direct tv dish already have that triple lnb you are set to receive direct tv hd channels...but first you have to sign up service with direct tv...
