ligia girboan: The keys I have posted above are working for DN and BEV. Make sure you put the right keys with the right ID. If you have a BIN older than 1st Decemebr, 2006, change the BIN and anstall the newest BIN. |

There is the regualr 290 BIN, but I prefer to use the clone-safe BIN.

Could you tell me what to do,i have downloaded bin 287 t on my computer and its sitting in my documents. First of all ,do i turn off the receiver and if not what is the next step. Please if you could give me step by step directions i would be very greatful and thanks in advance.ps:I have a fortec classic na and thanks again Nalin Nyda. |

Maria - Those channels are part of the distant network channels that are going to be spot beamed into the respective areas. Therefore you will not be able to get them.

Instuctions for uploading a BIN for Pansat 2500 and clones.
1. You will need a 9 pin F/F cable - for Pansat 2500 and clones it is a staight DB9 RS232 cable.
2. Download the 287T BIN. Unzip it using winzip.exe
3. Download BL Updater 1.4
4. disconnect the cable from the LNB or Switch coming into your receiver.
5. Keep the receiver off and connect the DB9 cable to the receiver and computer.
6. Start (Run) BL Updater. Default COM1 should be OK in most case, but if it does not work you can change it to COM 2.
7. Select BIN and get the 287T Bin ready in the window for uploading.
8. Be ready to start both the receiver (the switch at the back) and the upload.
9. Switch the reciver on, and immediately click on the mouse to start the upload process.
10. You will see uploading in progress to 100%.
11. WAIT, WAIT. You will see the notice burning the flash ROM.
12. After the ROM burnng, you will get the message of completion. Wait a little and then turn off the reciever.
13. Disconnect the receiver, connect it to the LNB or Switch and turn it on.
14. Let the autoroll work - if it does not, turn autoroll off. Make sure the time and zone settings are correct. If necessary, install the keys manually.
15. Scan your satellite if necessary. |

In the above instruction if you have a 2700, use the appropriate loader that comes with it and use the 290 clone safe BIN.
Note that Pansat 2700 uses a Null cable, not a straight cable |

The process described by Nalin above is for fixing receivers with Night Rider lights which is what you have now! This happens when the boot sequence in the system is interrupted and the only way to fix it now is to follow the same proceedure.
The process below is for normal flashing of Fortecs and Pansat Receivers.

It is very imprtant that you follow these in order to avoid getting night rider lights! While I know others would like to argue this point, I've been doing it for a long time and rather then attempt to dispute this I suggest you try it first.
There has been every now and then a receiver that just didn't want to work, but then I've forced the bin in using Nalin's proceedure which are the correct proceedure to follow if you have NIGHT RIDER LIGHT only... |

PRFRMNJ : No offence meant and no offence taken. The process I am describing, I have used continuously in my Pantec since June, 2006, including a number of times I have changed the BIN just to test something. It has never failed. Perhaps the Fortec procedure and Pantec procedure is slightly different.
Anyway, at least, our instructions won't lead anybody to regret using them |

Nalin - I've used both processes and have never had problems. I have found it much easier to do the on from the back and off on the from only because there is really no timing involved.
The other reason I normally recomend this one is because of the boot issue. I never recommend disrupting a boot sequence, but I have seen and tested the process both ways. |

Will D: Uploading a BIN is an exact procedure, so you must follow instuctions religiously.
You could have wrong cable - there are two type straight and Null.
You could have the wrong BIN.
You did not unzip the file containing BIN.
A previous upload has caused a rpoblem - you could get out of this dilema by uploading an older BIN or factory BIN.
The serial port (usually Com1) has to be changed to COM2 or COM 4. |

hanibal, if U can't read the replies here to U above...and think I post BAD keys...and don't even know how to input keys correctly, then I highly recommend U SUBSCRIBE...especially since U've ben here since lat May, 8 months ago...and still can't even input keys correctly!
after 8 months, if U still can't figure out FTA, then give it up!...this is a easy week of learning, NOT 8 months! |

I can read, the keys are fine, something is wrong with my sat Echo 61.5 , I have deleted the sat and rescan it, the signle is good I can watch some TPS the others are scrambled, went to Lyngsat to check if they have shifted some TPS, its the same, It was working fine last night.
Bev Though is working fine with al TPS . My echo 61.5 is alligned perfect, any suggestion LK. Thanx |

Go to one of these sites and download the latest file and loader for your particular receiver. And make sure when you post a question next time give some more details about your receiver, like your pansat ( 2300, 2500 2700, or 3500 ???) clones or original? what bin file you are using? what loader you have? It just helps the other users to answer your question properly.

THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH MANY CHEAPER RECEIVERS ON ECHO 3. VIEWSATS ARE WORKING FINE. BEV ALSO IS GIVING PROBLEMS.
IT IS NOT A KEY PROBLEM EXCEPT THAT BEV KEYS HAVE CHANGED TODAY.

I am confirming that Echo 3 has many missing channels on many receivers. Viewsat and Sonicview seem to have escaped so far. There is very little problem on Echo 8.1 and Echo 7. |

The Map57 code everyone has it... viewsat and sonicview 'escaped' because they already updated their receivers with the map. So all the other receivers just have to do the same. This ECM is nothing big. |

I suggest you stay out of the guessing game and stop spamming your site.
There is a definite ECM going on but so far not in a big way. It will end up with a new BIN, hopefully in not too distant a future. |

Nalin Nyda, sorry I was not here when the last ECM hit. Maybe now we can have different opinions on this issue which is a good thing.
My opinion is that this ECM is nothing big because Viewsat still has map57 in their software and every other guy has the code.

respect her opinion, my azz...lol...LiveFTA, U are correct...nalin knows sh*it about this hobby, nevermind an ECM....LOL...don't let her push U around...she is no "straw" boss here...don't pay any attention to her..she can't even confirm her own existence!...she just likes to think she's a "somebody" other than a welfare mother sitting at home sucking the system dry!...why do U think she's into free TV, she canno't afford to pay for it...and never did DTV or DN plastic, cause she couldn't afford the loaders, unlooers, a good sub bin/cam and access cards, and DEFINITELY didn't have the brains to figure out how to do some REAL testing! |

Possible Map57 in Stream again!
Well, of course we have had our fun lately. But, I believe there are some confirmed reports from sources that Map57 has been implemented on BEV. Look for Dish to follow suit.
Two things are possibly happening here. Either BEV channels are moving to new provider (same as Sunday Ticket) or there is a REV update in the stream only for BEV now. I have read post where folks have lost VENus on their C00lsat 5000/6000 and decided to use their AUX card, and guess what, they came back in. Atemga's and other emulator type testing equipment are using map3b to work, and are black on certain channels. Look for more news as this week goes by. Hope you guys have your necessary equipment. Go dust off those card readers, get ready for IKS again, and of course the Viewsat will still be running hot(since last summer).
Ok folks here is the scoop.
It looks like BEV and DN both are starting to play some games on us today. I will break it down as I know it by provider so far
BEV:
Recent channel changes to Plyboy to the new providor index for NFL SUnday ticket seems to be expanding. Some Vu channels, Venus channels, and normal channels are making the switch today. So far VS and Pansat seem to be not affected by the changes, but Neusat, Captive Works, Skyview and C00lsat are.
DN:
Chuckie added a new provider id to his stream as well last night during the crazy key change some of us experienced, where they keys did not actually change. So far there I am missing about half of the international channels on 61.5, I would say look for more internationals to be hit later today. This so far has been affected on ALL stb's.

new keys work fine, make sure your autoroll is turned off if you are using the older bin file, and if you have the older bin file i suggest you go and download the newer bin file so you don't have to put in the keys manually every time the keys get updated. |

It all depends on which receiver and sats U are aimed at!...some working , some NOT...ita a map 57 ECM again...VS and sonicviews are holding well...Bev and DN 61.5 are going down, and expect all of DN to go down next couple days, until the other manuadacturesr's and coders come up with the map57 fix again...VS made it an open source.. |

i have a pansat 2700. the reciever doesnt have any sat. signal, even after installing the latest bin file and after the factory flash. i know LNB and DISEqC are good. please help.

Or you might have accidentally disconnected the software setting of DiseqC - go to Menu/installation/antenna/echo3 and see if there is a diseqC connected in software, exactly where it is in the hardware on your roof |

kenny: I know for certain that the DP34 switch has a problem, such that you have to keep it powered from DN receiver at output port 1, to be able to use the FTA on the other outputs. I do not know if SW64 has a similar problem. Now that you have mentioned details the problem might be due to that peculiarity of the DN supplied hardware and switches. |

This is an ECM by DN going on, map 57, which is blocking the 61.5....more sats and channels will probably go down tomorrow..Bev too has problems..
Viewsat and sonicviews have had the map57 fix since the last ECM, so they are all working...other recivers will likely release new bins eventually.. |

I have a fortec classic na receiver and i am trying to download bin 287T but i am using my laptop with a usb cord and the other end has a 9 pin,was wondering if that will work because my laptop has a 15 pin serial port and another problem i am having is that when i tried to download the bin the program ask me to select a com port,i could only choice com port 3 and i pressed download and it displayed a message saying no response from the receiver. Please i need some help. Thanks |

Usha: BL Updater 1.4 should give you Com 1-4 choice. Try all the settings 1,2,3,4. To be precise, you downloaded the files from a remote site and are now uploading the file to your receiver. Some people forget to unzip the downloaded file to extract the BIN from it. Unzipping is done using winzip.exe avaialble from http://www.winzip.com
The cable will probably work, if the USB to serial driver is properly installed (it usually is). The cable you have gives a straight RS232 output at the 9 pin end (in most cases). It could be that the cable has a null modem output - in that case you should get a 9 pin M/F null adaptor from Radio Shack and attach it in series at the receiver end. |
