We have just got back from the store after purchasing our lovely new plasma screen and the chap at the store said that we had to stand the screen in an upright position for at least 2 hours before use... is this the case and if so what is the reasoning behind it.

Im hoping its not true coz we couldn't hold out on playing with the xbox 360.

Thanks in advance.
Gareth.

I think he wants you to admire it....

Really, the only reason I could think of that makes any sense is that in cold weather, you may want to let the unit (any complex electrical device) to become aclimated with the room temperature, especially if it has come in from outdoors and the unit is cold. Most delivery trucks are not heated.

Other than that, I am at a loss.
