I have a ton of VHS tapes from vacation to family events and personal... I recently bought a VCR/DVD recorder from Wal-Mart WV20V6 to preserve these home videos and constantly recieve "This program is not allowed to be recorded" which means copyright protected on videos from my camcorder? Tech support said I should transfer camcorder videos to another VHS tape and then try recording to DVD...THANKS tech support? I see regional codes and that is not what I'm lookin for but you may be close to helping my situation with some code. Thanks in advance...Paul

Cheap recorders can think tapes are protected when they're not.
