REGION FREE METHODS FOR : JDB

Slimline-2 (commonly sold in Superdrug)
851MR		 1. Open the player's tray.
2. Using the remote control, key in the following: Next, Previous, Next, Previous, Next, Previous.
3. Using the left and right arrow keys, change the number displayed from "2" to any region required or 255 for region free.
4. Press Select to finish (maybe Setup?)

Here's the method with additional comments:

1. Make sure de player can't read a disk. (The drive doesn't need to be opened, it's enough to make sure the drive can't read a disk (so an empty, closed drive does the trick).
2. Press (on the remote) the SETUP button; you'll get the OSD screen on the TV set.
3. Press NEXT, PREVIOUS, NEXT, PREVIOUS. You will see a number in the right upper corner of the TV set.
4. Cycle through the region numbers 1 to 6 and 255 (region free) with the > and < buttons and stop where you want.
5. Press SETUP (maybe twice) again to leave the Setup.

The new region is now saved!

It seems that this player is also sold in Germany as a Holland Electro HE DVD 851MR player.

and another version:

1. press setup (once).
2. press next, previous, next, previous.
3. the region code is now shown on the tv screen and in the last digits of the lcd display.
4. select the desired regional code with the left/ right arrow keys
5. press setup (once).
You have to reload the disk which was loaded already, it doesn't reinitialize automatically.

2. On the remote, type: 8, 4, 2, 1 now the region menu shows up.
3. The Enter key then cycles through regions: 1,2,3,4,5,6,9 (region free).
