DVD1500		 1.  Put the player in Standby mode, with no disc in the tray.
2.  Press 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9, 2 on the remote control.
3.  Press the number on the remote control that matches the region that you want (regions 1-4 only, apparently).
4.  Press OPEN and put the in disc you want to see.

Another version that works is:

1. Power off the machine.
2. Power on the machine and wait until the NO DISC message appears on the display.
3. Press 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9, 2 on the remote control.
4. Select the number of region you want.
5. When the POWER ON message appears on the display, the machine is converted.

NOTE: for the DVD5, please make sure that the player is standby mode.  After the hack is completed, the player should say "HELLO".

 Yes, for DVD1, DVD20, DVD1500

DVD10 may not work.

3. You can have region free, Macrovision off and Progressive scan using the upgrade.
