REGION FREE METHODS FOR : Goodmans

DVD2100B, GDVD139 These players are currently unhackable, so please don't ask about them.

GDVD67LCD 1. Press the Setup button on your remote control.
2. Press the Next button on your remote control.
Note: If steps 2 thru 5 have no effect, you may need to press the equivalent buttons on the player itself.
3. Press the Previous button on your remote control.
4. Press the Next button on your remote control.
5. Press the Previous button on your remote control.
6. A code should appear on the onscreen display.
7. Using the direction buttons on your remote control, change the code to VER 1 for region 1 playback, VER 2 for region 2, and so on, or VER 255 for multi-region playback.
8. Press the Setup button on your remote control.

Another method (slightly different):

1. Press the Setup button on your remote control
2. Press the Next button on your remote control
NB: If steps 2 thru 5 have no effect, you may need to press the equivalent buttons on the player itself
3. Press the Previous button on your remote control
4. Press the Next button on your remote control
5. Press the Previous button on your remote control
6. A code should appear on the onscreen display
7. Using the Left and Right direction buttons on your remote control, change the code to VER 1 for region 1 playback, VER 2 for region 2, and so on, or VER 255 for multi-region playback
NB: You may need to use the up and down buttons to select the region option before you change it
8. Press the Down key once and change the code to VER 3001 to enable parental controls, or VER 3000 to disable these controls
NB: You may need to use the up and down buttons to select the parental controls option before you change it
9. Press the Down key once more and change the code to VER 4001 to enable Macrovision, or VER 4000 to disable this feature
NB: This option does not work for the player, which is actually a clone of the Mustek V56S.
10. Press the Down key once again and change the code to VER 5001 to disable VCD/SVCD playback, or VER 5000 to enable this feature
NB: You may need to use the up and down buttons to select the VCD/SVCD playback option before you change it
11. Press the Setup button on your remote control
12. Press the Setup button on your remote control

GTV14DVD, GTV34DVD 1. Press the DVD function on the TV set.
2. Press the Stop button on the TV set.
3. Using the remote control, key in the following: 1, 9, 9, 9, Enter.
4. A secret menu area should be visible now, where you can change region or use 0 for region free.

If this doesn't work, try 1369 in step 3 instead of 1999.

Here are the methods again with a little more detail:

To convert this player to Multi-Region:

1. Press the DVD function on your TV set
2. Press the DVD Setup button on your remote control
3. Using your remote control, press the buttons 1, 3, 6 and 9, in order, one at a time
4. Immediately press the Left Arrow button on your remote control three times
5. Immediately press the Right Arrow button on your remote control once
6. The on-screen display should now show the word VERSION
7. Select this option and using your remote control, change it to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback
To convert this player to Multi-Region if the above does not work
1. Press the DVD function on your TV set
2. Press the Stop button on your TV set
3. Using your remote control, press the buttons 1, 9, 9 and 9 in order, one at a time
4. Press the Enter button on your remote control
5. You should now be in a secret area where you can change the region to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback

DVD3000 Region select:

1.  Switch the player on, with no disc in the tray.
2.  Press MENU, 5, EJECT, 1, 6, 7 on the remote control.
3.  Press MUTE to enable region-free play.

Play VCDs:

1.  Insert a music CD.
2.  Press MENU, 5, EJECT on the remote control.
3.  The tray should stay closed.
4.  Press 1, INDEX MENU, EJECT on the remote control.
5.  You should see a menu.
6.  Press 1 to enable VCD play.

2. Press 9, 8, 1, 7 on the remote control.
3. Press ENTER till region 9 for region free, or regions 1 to 6.
4. Press RETURN.
5. There is also an option in the menu to remove Macrovison and set PAL output.

Try 8917 in step 2 if it does not work.

2.  Press 0, 0 on the remote control.
3.  Press 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, etc.
4.  To verify the region you have set, press 0, 0, +10 - the front panel will flash the current region setting.

2. Press 7, 4, ENTER on the remote control.  If this doesn't work, then try 7, 7, ENTER.
3. A hidden menu should appear, where the country code can be selected using the SELECT button.
4. Choose regions 1 to 6, or enter 13 for region free.

2.  Using the remote control, key in the following: Setup, Custom, 3, 3, 3, 3.
3. A hidden menu should appear.

2. Key in the following using the remote control: Setup, Menu, Step, Prev, Next.

2. The onscreen display should show "VER #" indicating the currently set region.
3. Using the left and right cursor keys, change the region code to 1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2, and so on, or set it to 255 for multi-region playback
4. Press the Setup button on your remote control

GDVD134 1. Press the Open/Close button on the remote control.
2. Using the remote control, key in the following: 2, 8, 1, 2, Enter.
3. Using the Down button on the remote control, select the Country Code option and press the Enter button.
8. You will now be presented with four dashes, press the 1 button on the remote control for region 1, press 2 for region 2, and so on, or press 0 for region free. Try 9 if 0 does not work. Try 255 if 9 does not work.
9. Press the Enter button on the remote control.
10. Press the Open/Close button on the remote control.

VCD playback:

1. With the drawer open and the VCD in the drawer, remote in one hand and ready on the unit's front panel with the other....
2. On the front panel, close the drawer and immediately press 'Menu' on the machine's front panel - at the same time, pressing 5 on the remote control.
3. This should load the disc as a VCD.
4. If the VCD doesn't start playing, the play button will be disabled - press 0001 and off it will go.

GDVD-135 1. Turn On the player and Eject the disc tray.
2. On the remote press 2, 8, 1, 2 followed by Enter.
3. This gets you to the engineers menu.
4. Press Down until you reach COUNTRY CODE and press Enter.
5. The current region code will change to four dashes (----).
6. Input one number (0=Region Free, 1=USA 2=Europe, etc) and press Enter again.
7. The new region code will now be displayed.
8. You can exit by just pressing the Eject button once more.

2. Press Menu

2. Switch on your DVD player.
3. When the welcome screen appears press and hold the Stop botton on your remote control until the default setting appears.
4. Your unit should now play back discs from any region.

2. Type 81328 on your remote.
3. A window will appear on your tv.
4. Press the enter key to move to region 9.
5. Press play to close the drawer.
6. The machine is now permanently multiregion.

Enabling VCD playback:

1. Turn On the player and place a VCD on the open tray
2. Using the front panel press Close quickly followed by Menu and 5 on the remote
3. This should load and play the disc. If the disc fails to play then press 0, 0, 0, 1 and the disc should then play
