1. Open the tray.
2. Press 8, 1, 3, 2 and 8.
3. The region menu will appear, then press enter until region 9 is selected and press Play.
4. The unit will now be multi region.

VCD playback:

To play VCDs, open the tray, press 0, 0, 0, 1, and press play.

2. Press open/close once.
3. Type 8888.
4. Press Setup.
5. Press Next.
6. Select the region the player should operate in or select ALL for "code-free".
