When I turn on the TV it may stay on or shut off on me. If it shuts off I can see the picture starting to get flakey then smaller then it pops and then the picture goes out and the power goes out. The red power light stays on but I have to unplug it then plug it back in so that I can turn it back on. Any help or info is appreciated.

The protection circuit is shutting down the set. Could be a HV or deflection problem. You'll need a tech.
