Will a new standard VCR pass through the HDTV signal to TV. Will it be able to record old 3 by 4 format from a HDTV signal. Will a DVD recorder be able to handle a HTDV signal and record wide screen like Philips DVP3050V? I am trying to figure what will happen when there is only an HDTV signal and what I should get now to replace bad VCR. I was trying to figure if eventually I could have an old VCR and DVD recorder for HDTV working together with a merging connector.
