I am looking at purchasing an RCA DLP 61 inch for the family for Christmas. Can anyone enlighten me on this particular model? I don't want to be buying myself lots of grief.

I serviced my first DLP about 7 years ago. It came out of a sports bar. When I told the owner it was going to cost over $600 bucks to fix, he told me to throw it in the trash. He told me that his half dozen CRT sets looked better than the DLP ever did and they where as much as 10 years old. I agreed. Look at LCD, plasma, CRT anything but DLP. The lamps are $200 to $300. You'll be lucky if you're not replacing it at least once a year. That's just the start.
