DN is playing around with the 5th pair of keys...
The solution is to change the 5th pair in keys 00 to DB and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AUTOROLL TURNED OFF!
The correct key 00 for DN is:
00:

Same kind of problem on ViewSat Extreme, well sort of: correct Bin (worked until this Afternoon)correct new set of keys etc. Free chanels do show (103, 500 etc.) info showes but no picture. Tried power off /on, waiting for it if all loads up after about 2 hours no such luck.
Yes did double check if keys correct.
When keys chnged in the aft. the pic did froze. Turned power OFF for about 30sec. then back ON, keys must have rolled picture was back for about 15 minutes. Then froze again. Tried the same procedure - unsuccesfully. Did change keys manualy and result is described above.
Suspect the binery file may have gotten corupted.
But "ferenck massella" got my attention here: just how do you change / re-set key from "inactive" to an "active"?? Sorry "ferenck" but this seemes (if technicaly possible) to be illogical because, at the moment, Key 00 (86) is actually inactive / pasive one and the key 01 (96) is active one. Please explain this more in detail. Appreciate. Thanks.
Anyone else knowing how to resolve the above V/S Extreme problem please be welcome as well. |

Just do as stated above..manually enter the keys and SHUT OFF autoroll..its that simple...just enter the 4 lines of DN keys..
CAS Line Code Info
Coo*lsat: KEY Line 10 and 11 are for Idea Key 0 and Line 20 and 21 are for Idea Key 1
Pansat: key 00 for Idea Key 0 and Key 01 for Idea key 1
Viewsat: line 08 and 09 for Idea Key 0 and lines 88 and 89 for Idea key 1
For Receivers with only two Key Lines (which are VERY few), Enter Active Idea Key into 00 and 01 |

Thanks for trying to help LK. This was the first time ever I was to change the keys manualy (on V/S Xtreem, before had diferent STB's) and somehow I missed that there are 2 screens (00 AND 01) even though it did not feel right changing only 1 screen. In any case this important detail has been ommissed on every description on 'how to manualy enter keys' (on VSX) that I came to find. I know sounds stupid not to know but it's not wastefull info when one does this procedure for the very 1st time on this particular STB. Anyway it worked, it just took about 3 hours of reading different forums until I came across a post on Al7bar that mentioned something about "changing both screens" and then it hit me.
Again for anyone out there - ViewSat Extreem + manual change of keys (1st turn Autoroll OFF) = success only if changed on BOTH /00 and 01/SCREENS. |

there are 2 screens obviously because U have to enter 2 Different keys 00 and 01 and change them ...that should NOT need to be written...and all instructions will tell U to change from key 00 to key 01..

Listen up everyone you don't have 2 change both keys all the time..
You only need 2 change which ever key is active
Thats why it's called "ACTIVE"
It's 16 bit encryption not 32 bit  |
