I would appreciate some help. I have a new Sony Bravia LCD, with a lower-end Sony home theatre system and DVD player, as well as a PVR cable box.

When I change channels from a non-HD channel to an HD channel, the picture goes black (I can hear the correct channel, just no picture). No matter which channel I turn to after that, the screen remains black. However, the screen comes back again if I turn the TV off and on.

Any idea what I need to do to get my HD picture to come through, without turning my TV off and on.

Any help is appreciated.

Darren

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? Could you please share it if so as I am experiencing the same thing with a Sharp LCD.

Thanks.

Jason,

My girlfriend (who I must credit for having more patience than myself for this one) figured it out. She changed the "user settings" on our PVR cable receiver (Motorola DCT6400) to:

TV Type - 4:3
DVI/YPbPr Output - 1080i
4:3 Override - off

Hopefully your cable receiver's user settings are similar.
