Does anyone here own a Panasonic PT-52DL10 DLP TV? If so, how many times have you replaced the lamp on it? I bought the TV used in 2004, and about 6 months later the lamp burned out. I replaced it, even after finding out that it costs about $500.00. I figured may be the lamp had run its expected life of 5000 hours. Last night (October 3rd, 2006) I turned the TV on and a couple of minutes later I heard that dreaded shattering glass sound and the picture went out! I turned the TV off and took the lamp out and sure enough, it burned out, in fact a glass particle broke off of it and settled in the bottom of the compartment. I was pretty upset over this because the lamp couldn't have had more than 1600 hours on it, since I watch TV about 3 hours a day on the average. Panasonic claims the lamp should last about 5000 hours under normal use.
