Hitachi 50v500 ----I have a large red area in the middle if screen and blue on top of screen. It sounds like I need to replace the light engine. I heard they make rebuilt light engines. Does anyone know where to purchase one ? The new one is $1250 . Thinking of taking TV to the dump. Had alot of problems with TV and Hitachi service has been poor. Might as well bought an RCA .

I can get you a light engine for the 50v500 for a littlr less than half of that price.

If it is a LCD/PDP TV and it is using Back Light Source, It doesn't come from Back Light module.

teh problem of red area might come from a video component or Panel.
